Walks and Footpaths
Froyle is lucky to have so many footpaths through our beautiful countryside. There are footpath maps at both the Village Hall (Lower Froyle) and Jubilee Green (Upper Froyle).
If you want to download the footpath map as a pdf click here
We’ve detailed out a selection of 4 Walks Around Froyle. There are short walks, long walks, wildlife walks and walks full of history.
All walks use official footpaths and start and finish at the Village Hall where there is parking, a litter bin and access to an accessible toilet during daylight hours.
We recommend doing these walks on a Friday morning if you can, because you can get tea and cake at the Village Hall every Friday from 10-12 noon.
Please follow the highway code, keep to footpaths and keep dogs on leads near livestock.

- Short Lower Froyle Loop (approx 30 minutes) The last field can be a bit muddy after rain. Suitable for dogs and all abilities. Shorts are okay. Small amount of walking on the road.
- Froyle Wildlife Pond Walk (approx 50 Minutes) Can be a little muddy after significant rain. Suitable for dogs and all abilities. Shorts are okay. 30% of walking on the single track roads but it should be mostly quiet.
- Long Loop to Holybourne Down (approx 2 hours) Suitable for dogs and those with stronger legs, there is one steep hill down to Holybourne. Shorts are okay. The parts of the walk on the single track road should be quiet.
- Village Saints Walk (approx 1- 1.5 hours) Suitable for dogs and all abilities, there is one steep hill down to Ryebridge Lane from the top of Saintbury Hill. Shorts are okay. The parts of the walk on the single track road should be quiet. There is one section which is on a permissive path next to St Mary’s Church.
